Large companies are followed by teams of analysts. Their conference calls are dissected, their estimates are updated and their histories are easy to retrieve.
Canadian small cap and micro cap investors often face the opposite problem.
A company may have limited analyst coverage. Important financing details may sit deep inside a filing. A management promise made three years ago may be forgotten. A seemingly impressive announcement may mean something very different once it is placed beside the company’s previous results.
The facts may be public, but that does not mean they are organized, understood or remembered.

What The Stock Avengers Actually Does
We build and maintain the research trail.
That means looking beyond the latest announcement and asking:
Where did this company begin?
What did management originally tell shareholders?
How was growth financed?
Who received shares, options or warrants and on what terms?
Where did the cash go?
Did the expected catalysts occur?
Did operating results support the story?
What has the market misunderstood or ignored?
What would prove the investment thesis wrong?
These are not questions designed to produce automatic bullish or bearish conclusions. They are designed to produce a more complete one.
The Question at the Centre of Our Research
How will this decision and every dollar committed to it generate a return for shareholders?
We apply that question to acquisitions, debt, financings, executive compensation, capital expenditures and cash sitting on the balance sheet.
A friendly chief executive is not necessarily a skilled capital allocator. A growing business is not necessarily creating per share value. A large cash balance is only valuable if management protects it and deploys it intelligently.
We want to understand not only what management plans to do, but how each decision is expected to improve the outcome for shareholders.
The TSA Research Method
Our process is built around six steps.
Recover the original thesis. We identify what attracted investors before the company became widely discussed.
Build the timeline. We organize the announcements, financings, acquisitions, setbacks and milestones in the order they occurred.
Follow the capital. We examine how money and shares moved, what the company received and what shareholders surrendered.
Measure execution. We compare management’s statements with the company’s subsequent operating and financial results.
Challenge the narrative. We look for missing context, unresolved questions and evidence that contradicts the popular interpretation.
Update the conclusion. We explain what strengthened, weakened or invalidated the thesis as new information emerged.
